ARTS FOR HEALTH ON THE HIGH STREET

We are delighted to welcome Dr Malcolm Rigler as a Director to The Sound Agents Ltd.

Read Malcolm's blog post in the on the RSPH website here:
Why we should prioritise imagination in early years learning and medical education

Retired Somerset GP, Dr Rigler set up his GP practice in an empty shop on the High Street in Dudley in the 1970's and employed artists to work with patients long before social prescribing was fashionable. He is one of the founders of the Digital Community Hub 65 High Street, Nailsea.

"We are aware of the need for some Colleges of Art to offer courses in Community Arts Practice. With so many High Streets now needing to be 're-vitalised' such courses could turn out to be a vital element of the re-invention of the High Street Offer in the UK. The Sound Agents will be offering workshops in the Autumn and will be working in collaboration with LJMU Art & Design building and local colleges to provide first hand experience of working with communities and using art as a tool for communication"  Dr Malcolm Rigler 2021

Look out for our Spacehive Crowdfund project Arts For Health on The High Street coming soon. We aim to take over an empty shop or building in Liverpool City Centre and provide Arts workshops and Exhibitions working with seldom heard voices and local residents and providing on the job learning opportunities for creative people.
